Step 1: Get won and a T-money card
- Change a little money or use an ATM in the arrivals hall. Many T-money top-up points only take cash.
- Buy a T-money card at a convenience store in the airport, or at the T-money machine in the AREX station (B1), then top it up.
- SIM card and roaming counters (KT, SK Telecom, LG U+) are in the arrivals hall on 1F. At T1, some are open 24 hours near Arrival Hall F.

AREX: the airport train
Finding the station
From arrivals (1F), follow the "Train" / "Airport Railroad" signs down to the Transportation Center, B1. This works at both T1 and T2. The ticket machines and the Express ticket counter are on B1.
All-Stop train (the one most people take)
- Pay with your T-money card at the gate, or buy a single-use card from the station machine. The single-use card costs 100 won more, plus a 500 won deposit you get back at your destination.
- A train leaves about every 8 minutes during the day (up to 12 minutes apart).
- First train: 05:14 from T1 and 05:08 from T2.
- Last train to Seoul Station: 23:38 from T1 and 23:32 from T2. Later trains run only as far as Digital Media City.
| Get off at | From T1 | From T2 | Transfer to | For |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Gimpo Airport | 4,350 | 4,950 | Line 5, Line 9 | Yeouido, Gangnam via Line 9 |
| Digital Media City | 4,550 | 5,150 | Line 6, Gyeongui-Jungang | |
| Hongik Univ. | 4,650 | 5,250 | Line 2, Gyeongui-Jungang | Hongdae, Yeonnam-dong |
| Gongdeok | 4,650 | 5,250 | Line 5, Line 6 | Mapo, Itaewon (Line 6) |
| Seoul Station | 4,750 | 5,350 | Line 1, Line 4, KTX | Myeongdong (Line 4, 2 stops), Namsan |
Fares are in won with a T-money card. The trip from T2 is about 6 minutes longer than from T1.
Express train
Not sure which to take? AREX Express vs All-Stop.
- Runs non-stop to Seoul Station: 43 minutes from T1 and 51 minutes from T2. You get a reserved seat, free Wi-Fi, and a luggage area.
- Buy a ticket before boarding at the Express counter or a ticket machine on B1. Adults pay 13,000 won and children 9,500 won.
- If you're heading on to Busan, the K-Tour Pass (15,000 won) gives 50% off the Express and 40% off the KTX.
- Trains are about 40 minutes apart. The last one leaves T1 at 22:48 and T2 at 22:40.
- On your way home, an Express ticket also lets you check in and drop your bags at Seoul Station City Airport Terminal (05:20–19:00; not every airline or destination is covered, so check with yours).
Climate Card on AREX
A Climate Card tourist pass lets you get off at Incheon Airport but not board there. So it covers the trip back to the airport, but not your first trip into Seoul. Use T-money for that ride.
Airport limousine bus
- T1: buses to Seoul leave from outside the 1F arrivals hall, exits 3–7. Ticket booths are inside, next to exits 4 and 9, and outside.
- T2: buses leave from the bus terminal in the B1 Transportation Center. Seoul buses use stops 11–35.
- Check your route's stop number on the sign or at the ticket booth.

- K-Limousine buses (the 67xx routes) carry two bags per person (up to 40 kg in total) for free.
Taxi
Only use the official taxi stands. Drivers who approach you in the arrivals hall with "call vans" overcharge.
- T1 stands: regular taxis at 5C, 6C, and 6D; deluxe (black) taxis at 7C, jumbo taxis at 8C; the International Taxi at 4C.
- T2 stands: follow the taxi signs outside arrivals. The stand numbers on the airport's own website don't match each other, so trust the signs.
- Late-night surcharge: regular taxis cost 20% more from 22:00 to 23:00, 40% more from 23:00 to 02:00, and 20% more from 02:00 to 04:00.
- International Taxi: the driver speaks English and the fare to Seoul is flat, 70,000–95,000 won depending on the area. Book at least 24 hours ahead at intltaxi.co.kr or +82-1644-2255.
- Taxis take foreign credit cards and T-money. To book one with an app in English, use k.ride.
